One of the most used products of Anatolian cuisine, green lentils is one of the nutritious and delicious foods of winter days. Green lentil dish is a highly preferred dish for those who eat vegan-vegetarian type in terms of nutritional value and protein source. And what goes well with green lentils? We prefer especially some accompaniments such as rice, caciki and pickles. This is a very simple green lentil dish recipe. Enjoy it!

How To Make Green Lentils Dish?

First, wash green lentils and put them in a pot with 1 liter of water, boil them for 15 minutes and drain.

While the lentils are boiling, finely chop the onion and garlic, and chop the potatoes, carrots and peppers into cubes.

Rinse the pot in which you boiled the lentils with water and put it on the stove, then add the oil, onion and garlic and saute for 5 minutes.

Immediately after, add the carrots and tomato paste and saute for another 5 minutes, then add the potatoes, peppers and spices and mix.

Put 0.5 liters of hot water on all the ingredients except the lentils in the pot and cook for 15 minutes.

At the end of 15 minutes, add the boiled lentils, pour 0.5 liters of hot water on top and continue cooking on low heat for another 20 minutes.

The delicious green lentil dish is ready to serve in a total of 1 hour, 15 minutes for the lentils to be boiled and 45 minutes for the cooking time. Bon Appetit!
